The Neighbourhood

555 The West Mall is located in Etobicoke, on the east side of The West Mall, just south of Rathburn Road. The property offers convenience at one’s doorstep with several community services and amenities, including local schools, libraries, community centers and parks all within a short radius. The intersection of The West Mall and Rathburn Road is well connected by regular north-south and east-west TTC bus routes.

What’s happening to the existing 14-storey rental apartment building on the site?

There will be no changes to this building other than regular maintenance. However, we will be increasing the cleaning of the common area to ensure continued cleanliness and overall upkeep of the residence.

How will the residents of the existing buildings be impacted?

We will be obtaining our building permit for this development next month. Once building permit is obtained, we will begin constructing a new 21-storey apartment building on the site, new shared indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, landscaping features, pedestrian connections, pick-up and drop-off area, bicycle parking and a new underground parking. Current residents of 555 The West Mall would have access to these new amenities and underground parking garage provided as part of this development.

Will there be any meetings with current residents to discuss the proposal?

Yes, as long as it is safe to do so in person, we will continue to have meetings with the residents in the existing building. Residents will receive monthly updates.

What’s next in the process?

Obtain necessary construction permits to commence site preparation in August.
