Starlight Developments is redeveloping 555 The West Mall in Etobicoke, ON with one new 21-storey-rental apartment building. In line with Starlight Developments’ commitment to improving tenant quality of life, the redevelopment will also add features such as new shared indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, landscaping features, pedestrian connections, new bicycle parking and underground parking- all available to new and existing residents.
As part of this proposed redevelopment, the existing 14-storey building on site would remain and the new 21-storey rental apartment building would be built in the northern part of the property.

The property offers convenience at one’s doorstep with several community services and amenities, including local schools, libraries, community centers and parks all within a short radius. The new building will be on the northern part of the property next to Rathburn Road. New shared indoor amenity spaces are proposed in the new building’s ground level and will be directly connected to the building’s lobby. The new outdoor amenity space and landscaped area are located around both the existing building and the new building. less
There will be no changes to this building other than regular maintenance.
We need to secure the necessary approvals from the City first to begin any construction on the site, which is a few months away. When we do obtain approvals, we will begin constructing a new 21-storey apartment building on the site, new shared indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, landscaping features, pedestrian connections, pick-up and drop-off area, bicycle parking and a new underground parking. Current tenants of 555 The West Mall would have access to these new amenities and underground parking garage provided as part of this development.
Yes, as long as it is safe to do so in person, we will continue to have meetings with the tenants in the existing building.
We recently resubmitted our development application to the City of Toronto on June 13, 2022. The next step is for the City to review our proposal and provide us with comments.
